CHP VEHICLE STRUCK - BURSTS INTO FLAMES

A California Highway Patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle on the Long Beach (710) Freeway Sunday, causing it to burst into flames. The crash was reported at 3:27 p.m. on the freeway near the Compton Boulevard overpass.

Initial reports indicated no officers were hurt in the crash, but one person was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Reports are that the cruiser was rear-ended by a drunk driver.
