ARKANSAS OFFICER STRUCK BY SPEEDING CAR

Fayetteville Officer Thomas Reed was investigating an accident earlier Friday when a Pontiac GTO came speeding in his direction.

Officers at the scene with Reed said he tried to motion to the driver to pull over when a black Nissan hit him. Reed was thrown through the air landing several feet away in a ditch.

He was taken to the hospital. Both drivers were taken into custody.
