Massachusetts Crossing Guard, 71, Dies After Being Hit by Pickup in Everett
A 71-year-old crossing guard was struck by a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority pickup truck this morning and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where she died tonight. Marie Stewart of Everett was struck by a white GMC pickup driven by an Massachusetts Water Resource Authority employee.

St. Louis Area Towing Operator Struck and Killed
A 21-year-old suspect has been charged after a St. Louis-area tow truck driver was killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident in north St. Louis Monday night. Aaron Bogue was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and property damage. He remains in custody on a $50,000 cash-only bond. Police said Bogue struck and killed 51-year-old David Bense Sr., who worked for AAA Auto Club, on Interstate 70 near West Florissant while he was putting down safety flares and assisting a stranded motorist. Bense’s wife said he was on his last call of the night and was wearing a safety vest. South Carolina Towing Operator Struck and Killed on I-95
A Timmonsville, South Carolina man is dead after a vehicle struck him on I-95, near mile marker 175 in Dillon County, Saturday evening April 7, 2012. According to Dillon County Coroner, Donnie Grimsley, James Coffee, 24, died after being struck by a Dodge van headed northbound. Sgt. Bryan McDougald of the Highway Patrol said that Coffee was working for a local wrecker company and was on the scene of a disabled vehicle call when he was hit. The Highway Patrol is currently investigating the scene and no further information regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident can be released at this time.

Virginia: Towing Worker from "Cash's Garage" Killed in Amherst County Wreck
Officers say late Monday morning, they were called to clear a tractor-trailer crash on Route 130 in the Snowden area. The big rig had overturned, so workers from "Cash's Garage" in Madison Heights were called in to help with the clean up effort. State Police say just after 12:00pm, 64-year-old Claude Cash was standing near his wrecker when another tractor trailer traveling by the crash site crashed into him. Cash died at the scene.

West Virginia Sheriff's Deputy Killed in Car Accident
An on-duty Monongalia County, West Virginia Sheriff's Deputy was killed early Saturday morning in a car accident. Sergeant Michael Todd May, 41, was working a midnight shift on D.U.I. patrol, when his vehicle was struck by a driver under the influence on Interstate 79 just over the Pennsylvania line. A press release from the Waynesburg Detachment of the Pennsylvania State Police stated that Jerod Alan Green, 35, of Morgantown was being investigated for a hit and run on Easton Hill Road. Granville Police located Green's vehicle traveling on Route 100 in Monongalia County. Officers initiated a stop and deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department arrived to assist.

Pennsylvania Tow Truck Operator Killed on Route 581
A tow truck operator was killed in a crash on Route 581 in Cumberland County early Wednesday morning. The crash happened just after midnight on Route 581 westbound in Lemoyne. Andrew Smith, 23, of Landisburg was loading a disable vehicle onto his flatbed tow truck along the highway in Lemoyne when he was struck by a tractor-trailer traveling west.

Montana Deputy Killed Directing Traffic
A Blaine County deputy was fatally struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at the scene of a disabled vehicle Wednesday night Undersheriff Pat Pyette, 54, was outside of his vehicle when 61-year-old Mary Steward hit him around 5 p.m.on U. S. Highway 2, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. He was flown to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls where he died.

Truck Kills Canadian Police Officer During Traffic Stop
A 37-year-old Bromont police officer was killed on Thursday shortly before lunchtime when he was hit by a small truck on Highway 139. The officer, identified as Vincent Roy, had stopped a car for a moving violation at 11:30 a.m. and was walking on the shoulder of the road back to his cruiser to verify the license and registration when he was struck by a truck passing by. The small cube truck veered off the two-lane road onto the shoulder and clipped the cruiser before hitting Roy. He died at the scene.

Police Officer Killed in Fengxian District, China
A traffic police officer was killed yesterday when he was struck by a container truck on an expressway in suburban Fengxian District. A woman also died in the accident and two people were injured, police said. The injured were in stable condition in a local hospital last night. The truck driver, surnamed Chen, was placed under police custody following the accident.

Ohio FF/EMT Killed When She Was Struck by A Car
A one vehicle crash claimed the life of an off-duty volunteer firefighter/EMT at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning at the intersection of US 20 and Fulton-Lucas Rd. The FF/EMT, Charlotte Adair, was on her way to work when she stopped to assist motorists that were involved in a crash at that location. While directing traffic, she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
