• Illinois: • Tow truck operator hit by semi, killed on I-55 in Logan County

  A tow truck operator from Rochester, Illinois working to remove a disabled vehicle from the shoulder of Interstate 55 was killed Sunday night after he was hit by a passing semi tractor-trailer.

• Florida: Road Ranger Killed in Crash on Florida Turnpike

  Part of the Florida Turnpike in Kendall is closed after a road ranger has killed when a truck ran him over, Tuesday afternoon September 15, 2015. The ranger, 47-year-old Andres Garcia Boligan, was attempting to slow down traffic, when a dump truck apparently lost control of his brakes, hit a light pole and ended up running over the ranger.

• Michigan: Firefighter dies after hit and run while collecting for charity

  A Lansing firefighter has died after being struck by vehicle in what police are calling a deliberate hit-and-run crash on the city's south side.
