NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation Reports for "Motor Vehicle - Struck-by" Incidents

  • Kentucky City Worker Struck, Killed By Garbage Truck

    Metro police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a three-person sanitation crew, a driver and two tippers, returned to the Public Works facility on Meriwether around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The two tippers got out of the truck as they arrived at the facility. The driver did not see one of the tippers and struck her, Mitchell said. Police said the victim was Darlene Brown, 51, of East Burnett Avenue.

  • Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Worker Struck, Killed at Work Site

    A 57-year-old PennDOT employee was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle passing through a construction zone in East Hanover Township on Tuesday morning. Thomas R. Allen of Lebanon was a flagger at a shoulder-cutting operation on Gravel Hill Road, just north of Lindley Murray Road, when he was struck by a northbound 1999 Isuzu Amigo

    A Lexington Police officer who was killed in the line of duty by a hit and run driver last week was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon.

  • Indiana Highway Worker Hit on I-94 by Alleged Drunk Driver Dies

    The road construction worker injured in a hit-and-run accident on I-94 in Indiana died Sunday. Roger Sadler, 49, of Michigan City, was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m. Sunday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
