• Texas Officer Succumbs to 2005 Crash Injuries

  The Officer Down Memorial Page has reported the death of Amarillo, Texas Officer Mark Simmons. Simmons died on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from injuries sustained three years ago when his cruiser was struck by a vehicle being pursued by other officers. He and his partner were attempting to locate the vehicle when it slammed into them.

• Montana Firefighter Struck and Killed While Managing Traffic

  A volunteer firefighter is dead after a tractor trailer crashed into his vehicle while he was responding to a wreck on Interstate 90 near Haugan, MT. The Montana Highway Patrol says the 59-year-old firefighter from Haugan was responding to a single-vehicle wreck involving minor injuries. He was working in a traffic control function when he was struck by an out-of-control tractor-trailer.

• Texas Officer Who Was Hit by Squad Car Dies

  A San Antonio police officer who was critically injured in a weekend traffic accident when he was hit by another officer's patrol vehicle died Monday evening.
