(SC)(03-21-2024) Crossing Guard Fatally Hit By Vehicle
FORT MILL, S.C. – A crossing guard at Fort Mill Elementary School died at a local hospital after being hit by a vehicle while on duty, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. during afternoon dismissal on Thursday, March 21st.
Stanley Brucker, 61, was working as a crossing guard when a vehicle hit him. He was transported by an ambulance to Piedmont Medical Center in Fort Mill where he later died.
Police have not released the identification of the driver of the vehicle that fatally hit Brucker. Autopsy and toxicology reports are pending, officials said.
