NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation Reports for "Motor Vehicle - Struck-by" Incidents

• (ME)(09-23-2021) Hancock County sheriff’s deputy struck and killed by motorist

  Deputy Luke Gross was struck and killed after he responded to a call of a vehicle that had gone off the road shortly before 4 a.m.

• (WA)(09-22-2021) Tow operator struck and killed on I-5

  A 33-year-old Kalama tow truck operator was struck and killed on I-5

• (GA)(09-04-2021) EMT struck and killed by vehicle while providing aid after crash

  EMT Wade and his partner came upon the scene of a crash and they pulled over to help render aid until first responders arrived.
