(DE)(04-09-2021) Selbyville Volunteer Fire Police Officer struck & killed in crash
The Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company said one of its members was killed while on the scene of a vehicle crash Friday afternoon. Laura Madara, a fire police officer and president of the Ladies Auxiliary, died after sustaining injuries she suffered in a department crash.
Delaware State Police said Saturday morning that the 56-year-old woman was struck by a Selbyville Fire Police truck that was "being utilized to assist with traffic control while on the scene for a separate motor vehicle crash."
