Texas: Tow-truck driver killed in crash involving drunken driving suspect in Irving
Police say one person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash that closed Texas 183 in Irving for several hours overnight.
According to police, it happened after 7 p.m. near O'Connor Road after a tow truck driver stopped to help a stranded driver. Police said a drunken driver crashed into the tow truck and the stranded car. Police said a total of four cars were involved in the crash.
A 38-year-old Irving man is in custody after a crash that killed a tow-truck operator in Irving on Tuesday evening.
Edgar Arturo Zavala-Asturias was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter after the 7 p.m. crash on State Highway 183 near North O’Connor Road. Police say Joshua Henao, 22, was on the highway’s right shoulder in the process of loading a vehicle onto his wrecker when the accident occurred. Henao was killed, and Zavala-Asturias suffered minor injuries.
