Tennessee: Man killed in hit-and-run on I-24 while repairing semi truck identified
A mechanic was hit and killed on the side of I-24 on Thursday night just short of Old Hickory Blvd. The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. near mile marker 41, north of the city near Joelton. Metro Police tell News4 the man and another mechanic were working on a semi truck that was broken down in the area. The man was identified as 38-year-old Michael Lindsey of Whites Creek.
Police believe Lindsey was struck when the red Volvo truck drove away, apparently unaware Lindsey was there.
The red Volvo truck driver is described as a white male in his 50s with long sandy brown hair and a thin build, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and was last seen wearing a whit t-shirt.

While he was working on the truck, a vehicle hit and killed him. The second mechanic left the scene to make a purchase and when he returned he found Lindsey dead with his tools nearby.
Police are currently searching for the driver of a red Volvo semi truck that was in the area around the time the crash happened. The broken down truck driver told police that he saw an unidentified driver standing outside of the red Volvo truck but did not speak to him. The driver then saw the red Volvo truck pull away and said that driver told him he stopped because of a mandatory break.
