• Texas: Richard Martin, Houston Police Officer, Killed After Suspect Intentionally Struck Him With Vehicle, Authorities Say

  A Houston police officer died in the line of duty Monday when an unnamed suspect intentionally ran him over during a high-speed car chase, reports said. Officer Richard Martin, a 47-year-old man who worked at the Houston Police Department for the last four years, was struck with the vehicle as he tried to aid in the suspect’s capture

• Turkey: Police officer killed after being hit by car whose driver refused to stop

  A 23-year-old police officer was killed on Wednesday night in the western province of Manisa after being hit by a car whose driver refused to stop, despite being ordered to do so by the officer.

• Colorado State Patrol cadet killed near Longmont as he tried to save tow truck driver

  As a police chase sped down a state highway Saturday morning, a Colorado State Patrol cadet shouted a warning to a tow truck driver to get out of the way. Then, a fleeing Honda barreled through the unrelated accident scene and hit State Patrol Cadet Taylor Thyfault. Thyfault, 21, was killed.

• Ohio: Tow truck Driver Killed on Ohio Turnpike

  A crash closed the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike Monday for the second time in just two hours after another vehicle hit a semi involved in the earlier crash.
