Massachusetts: Tow Truck Driver Struck on Massachusetts Turnpike
State police converge on the Massachusetts Turnpike eastbound near Exit 10 about 3 this afternoon after it was reported that a tow truck driver outside his vehicle had been hit by a box truck. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the Auburn Fire Rescue Department said. Craig Moran, a Sturbridge selectman and owner of Sturbridge Service Center, confirmed the victim was a tow truck driver for his company. State police have identified the tow truck operator struck and killed while helping a motorist in the breakdown lane of the Massachusetts Turnpike. Police say 22-year-old Kevin St Pierre of Southbridge was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by an eastbound box truck at about 3 p.m. Wednesday February 11, 2015 near exit 10 in Auburn.
