A 37-year-old Bromont police officer was killed on Thursday shortly before lunchtime when he was hit by a small truck on Highway 139. The officer, identified as Vincent Roy, had stopped a car for a moving violation at 11:30 a.m. and was walking on the shoulder of the road back to his cruiser to verify the license and registration when he was struck by a truck passing by.
