  • Worker Struck, Killed in Ohio Construction Zone

    A construction worker has been struck and killed while on the job along an interstate highway in Ohio. The State Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Randy Roginski was hit by a passing vehicle late Tuesday night. He'd been standing on the right shoulder alongside a single lane of traffic open on Interstate 271 just north of I-77 near Richfield, 17 miles south of Cleveland in northeast Ohio.

  • Southern Mississippi Sheriff Dies After Arrest Attempt

    A sheriff in southern Mississippi died Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle while trying to make an arrest on a road near the Alabama state line, officials said. George County Sheriff Garry Welford was pronounced dead at 4:23 p.m. after being airlifted to the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, District Attorney Tony Lawrence said in a news release.

    A 70-year-old Adopt a Highway volunteer was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening U.S. Highway 41 in Brown County, according to the State Patrol. The driver was traveling southbound on Highway 41 when it lost control and fatally struck the 70-year-old man about 6:30 p.m

  • Oklahoma Construction Workers Hit, Killed By Car on I-40 Near Yukon

    Forty-eight-year-old Salvador Hernandez and his nephew 20-year-old Jose Hernandez were killed by a passing vehicle in a construction zone along I-40 just west of Yukon.
