M.D.T.A. OFFICER KILLED DURING HIT-AND-RUN IN BALTIMORE
A Maryland Transportation Authority officer is dead after a hit-and-run accident on Northbound 95. The fatal accident happened as MDTA Police were preparing the highways for the New Year.
Officer Courtney Brooks, a 13-year veteran, was working as part of the commercial vehicle safety unit. As he set down flares along I-95 and the 395 exit to keep trucks out of the city during the New Year's celebration, a motorist struck him and took off.
Officer Brooks was rushed to Shock Trauma where he died. Police need your help finding the driver of a green Ford Explorer they believe was involved in the incident. M.D.T.A. Police say the SUV will have front end damage.
The SUV has Delaware temporary tags--license plate number X-B-7-1-9-8-2-0.
M.D.T.A. Police are asking motorists to call 410-537-1208 if they have any information about the fatal accident.
