RESERVE OHIO DEPUTY KILLED AT CRASH SITE

Ohio Deputies were investigating a car-deer collision around 7 a.m. on Wednesday October 18 on Rt. 50 near Rt. 28, about 3 miles west of Chillicothe. Reserve Deputy Sheriff Lawrence Barnes was helping another deputy with traffic control when he was struck by a west-bound driver. Barnes was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was married with two children. He was also a member of his local fire department. Funeral arrangements are pending.
