MARYLAND DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY POLICE OFFICER DIES
An 18-year veteran of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police has died, more than eight months after he was struck by a car while taking part in a funeral procession. Motor Officer Robert Krauss died Friday night September 1 as he was undergoing additional surgery at University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Krauss underwent several operations over the past eight months since he was struck by a van while riding his police motorcycle in a funeral procession on December 21, in Baltimore City. He was 38-years-old and is survived by his wife, his parents and his brother. Krauss' father Walter is a retired Baltimore City Police Officer. Krauss was posthumously promoted to Corporal.
