DOT / Safety Service Patrols
Departments of Transportation typically provide traffic control at longer-term or complicated scenes as part of a multi-agency response. Safety Service Patrols often respond as a single unit but may also be on scene at a multi-agency response. Traffic control is necessary for the safety of responders working that incident and should be established before other operations begin. These resources assist DOTs and Safety Service Patrols in establishing the policies, procedures, and training necessary to implement traffic control at every roadway incident response scene.
