Wisconsin: Impaired driver doesn't move over, hits deputy's squad car
Madison police say a man hit a police car because he was impaired, and didn't move over for the emergency vehicle. Police say it was at about 10 Friday night when a Dane County Sheriff's Deputy was conducting a traffic stop on Aberg Avenue near ShopKo Drive. While in his squad car completing paperwork related to the traffic stop, police say the deputy's car was struck by a vehicle operated by 32-year-old Clifton M. Jones,of Portage. The deputy had to be taken to the hospital, but his injuries weren't life-threatening.
Jones was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail for OWI Causing Injury and Illegally Passing Stopped Emergency Vehicles.
Madison Police want to remind drivers to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles.
