Australia: Officer struck by car before crash
A police officer was struck by a car while dealing with a disturbance at a home in South Lake last night.
Officers arrived at the house on Eppalock Grove about 5pm and started checking a white Holden Commodore which was parked out the front.
Police will allege a 20-year-old man linked to the disturbance entered the vehicle and reversed it into one of the police officers.
The other officer had to take evasive action.
A short time later, the 20-year-old was seen driving along North Lake Road in Bibra Lake by police who were responding to calls for assistance.
It will be alleged the driver failed to stop before crashing into an Alfa Romeo near the corner of Phoenix Road and North Lake Road.
He was arrested and taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for a medical assessment.
The police officer received treatment for an injured leg. Investigations are ongoing
