PENNSYLVANIA STATE TROOPER HURT RESCUING KIDNAP VICTIM
A state trooper was injured yesterday morning during the rescue of a woman kidnapped from her Uniontown home. The patrol car of Trooper George Mrosko, who is stationed at the Uniontown barracks, was struck by the suspect's car during his getaway. State police said Trooper Mrosko was injured, but his condition was not available. The trooper was driving on South Mount Vernon Avenue in South Union when he saw a woman, Monique S. King, 23, jump from another car and run away, screaming for help as she fled. The officer activated his emergency lights and began pursuing the suspect, who led him on a chase through several streets and alleys before he stopped.
Instead of surrendering, the suspect backed his minivan into the police cruiser and sped away. Ms. King identified the suspect as Keith Aaron Thomas Jr., 21, of Uniontown. She told police that she was assaulted at her residence before Mr. Thomas abducted her.
