Louisiana: Officer Shannon Brown was struck by a car during a traffic stop and succumbed to his injuries Saturday
A Louisiana police officer has died after a car struck him during a traffic stop last Sunday. Fenton Police Sgt. Vernon O'Quinn told the station Officer Shannon Brown, 40, died Saturday morning.
Brown was conducting a traffic stop on August 7. His emergency lights were on at the time of the crash, State Police Spokesman Sgt. James Anderson told KPLC. Florence T. Boudreaux struck the rear of Brown's patrol car causing it to strike Brown and the vehicle he had pulled over, according to the report.
According to Fenton Police, Boudreaux was charged with failure to move over for an emergency vehicle.
