Michigan: Man charged with reckless driving causing death, in the June 14 crash that happened on eastbound I-94, in Comstock.

A man has been indicted in the death of a Michigan Fire Chief. At about 2130 hours on June 14, 2017, Chief Switalski was among those operating at a crash scene on eastbound I-94. As companies were preparing to leave the scene, Clevengers vehicle lost control and struck Chief Switalski, as he was standing near the rear of his rescue vehicle.

According to the data recorder in Clevenger's vehicle, he was traveling approximately 90 miles per hour before the crash. The data shows that he slowed down to about 87 miles per hour when he crashed into the concrete barrier at the side of the road....and analysis of Clevenger's phone reveals he was using it just before the crash.
